Why make sunglasses out of carbon fiber?
We set out to make a pair of sunglasses that have great quality, cool design and high durability. After brainstorming and testing of different materials we realized that the most accurate material would be carbon fiber. If it´s good enough to build space shuttles with, it sure would be good enough for us. And thus, Fibrous was born.
As for the design we use a classic wayfarer look and thanks to the carbon fiber, the arms are very flexible and will fit any size.
For the temples we use five barrel hinges with an adjustable screw so you can tighten them or loosen them easily. They are also adaptable over the nose so they will fit everyone.
We use 7 layer lenses with some great features.
- Effectively reduces glare, eliminating dazzling light reflection and scattered light which makes the vision more soft and clear.
- Wearer won't feel scenery distortion and vertigo.
- The polaroid lens have seven layers composite materials with UV400 ultraviolet ray standard. In other words they block all wavelengths of light from 400 nm. This covers all of the UV spectrum.
- The first and last layer features a clear and durable scratch-resistant layer to keep your sunglasses looking great, no matter how roughly you treat them.
- They´re also polarized.
And to top it off, because of this lightweight carbon fiber, these amazing sunglasses only weigh 21 grams.
If you love them as much as we do, you can buy them here.
